Welcome to Motor Vehicles Department Website

In order to give effect to the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 & Rules made thereunder, Motor Vehicles Department has been set up under Section 213 of Motor Vehicles Act 1988 in the State of Maharashtra. The functions of MVD are monitored and controlled by the Transport Commissioner’s office, located in Mumbai. The Transport Commissioner’s office is supported by 15 Regional Transport Offices (RTO) and 35 Deputy RTOs.
